Manawa Ora Mirimiri and Healing Workshop, Sydney

Manawa Ora Mirimiri and Healing Workshop, Sydney

RETURNING to SYDNEY - MIRIMIRI and ROMIROMI; authentic Maori bodywork and healing.Learn about cultural knowledge and practice. Be immersed in Maori tradition, gain insight, discover your potential and experience personal insight and transformation.

Our unique venue/location is on Narrabeen Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches just metres from the beach and the calm water of Narraabeen Lake.

Authentic Mirimiri is a powerful indigenous healing modality. This is often in contrast to the widely held misconception that it is merely another form of massage. Experience a cultural perspective of health and wellbeing; including the importance of self-care AND caring for the environment (Papatuanuku), which are the foundations of traditional practice.

You will be given the tools to utilise Mirimiri, not only as a form of healing for yourself and others, but as a way of life. Jolie Davis is an established traditional practitioner and educator (formally a trained nurse) from Te Rarawa/Ngati Kuri iwi, Currently based in Wellington, NZ. She is passionate about sharing traditional knowledge to empower people to reclaim and maintain wellness.

At this workshop you will also be introduced to: Floorwork, Haemata (pressure points), Whatumanawa (intuitive guidance) and use of the natural environment (Papatuanuku); traditional tools such as Rakau (sticks), Kohatu (stones), waiata (song), takutaku (traditional chant or prayer). Many people experience their own personal healing, breakthroughs and/or transformation during this time.

The workshop is also useful for people who work in health and education, social services and community organisations - assisting people to create and engage in positive and supportive relationships with others.

Suitable for beginners or established practitioners looking to develop their knowledge around healing and bodywork. Previous experience is not required.

Spaces are strictly limited. Shared lunch Saturday. Morning teas and Sunday lunch provided.
