We all have an instinct to be calm and have calm. There is never a time when we do not wish to be calm. Calmness is in our nature; it is in the hearts and minds of every one of us. Most of the time we are calm, but we must learn to abide in that state without becoming distracted.
PEACEFUL MIND, HAPPY LIFE will teach you meditation techniques that will help your mind become relaxed, focused and peaceful. In turn, this will enable you to recognise the causes of unhappiness and to recover from stress, anxiety and tension. Learning to focus the mind will quiet the chatter and chaos that is so prevelent for all of us, and help to remove undesirable habits, improve confidence and add a touch of dignity and sacredness to life.
Level 1 of the Peaceful Mind Happy Life program is a 1 day intensive workshop This basic level introduces the student to Shamatha meditation. Students learn and practice the simple technique of focusing on the breath and body scanning. The theory aspect of this course will cover mindfulness and applying it to everyday life, dealing with pain, and working with the obstacles of laziness and forgetfulness. Skills learnt in this workshop can be utilised not only during private meditation, but also in day-to-day life.
This basic level introduces you to the simple techniques of sitting still and focusing on the breath. In this workshop you will cover mindfulness of body and feeling, how to apply it to everyday life, body scanning, dealing with pain, and working with the obstacles of laziness and forgetfulness.
